ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
'Shaker Gifts' is a collection of vibrant live renditions by virtuoso pianist Brent Johnson. Music of the Shakers, a nineteenth-century American religious group which emphasized dancing, is featured. Other traditional dances, hymns, and carols, mainly of British Isles origin, are included. All of these pieces, and an equal number of others not included in this release, were recorded in a single four-hour recording session at San Diego's Studio West (2012), using the studio's Yamaha grand piano.
