Album Notes
Modern Jazz in an "ECM" style, featuring both the bass and melody parts played simultaneously on the amazing Chapman Stick.

Chapman Stickist Brett Bottomley was born in New Haven, Conn. A gifted composer and player, Brett displays incredible sophistication on the Stick, playing both "bass and guitar" parts simultaneously. After years of professional gigging and recording on both upright and electric bass,
Brett has released his first solo CD "Journeys" on Chapman Stick. A blend of "ECM" and traditional influences,
Bretts playing and recordings unleash the
Stick's full potential.

Very impressive
A deft combination of Chapman Stick, vibes, sax and drums in a modern-jazz format. The music ranges between classic bop and '70s ECM-influenced fusion. More importantly, Bottomley helps elevate the Stick into a serious jazz instrument--no mean feat. Highly, highly recommended.
