ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
First Blues - is literally the first bluesy track i put down on any recording device and although not too strong it is still as raw as the first take.
Cyril - is a lament to my father, sadly no longer with us. I was influenced by Springsteens' Phyllidelphia but my father was always into all things Italian and I wanted a Mediteranian sound for the lead guitar. This was written when my father was fading.
Notes For My Love - Coming of the back of my fathers' illness and then my own, I wanted something to celebrate life, something happy that was about the love of my life but could also be about yours' for you. It's a busy song so the guitar solo is very economic.
RoadRage - Pure rock anger. I thought of loads of lyrics for this but most were unprintable hence it's an instrumental.
DC - I had AC/DC in mind when starting this but as it didn't get there neither did the title or the lyrics hence another instrumental.
Hospital Blues - Back to the blues feel with the true story of my 2011.
Morning, Noon and Night - Basically, getting better with the help of my morning, noon and night with whom I live.
Ondansetron - Could be a woman but isn't. Its the base name for a drug I that didn't like me with in a fun blues riff.
Coming Down - This started rather more melencolly and changed when I used a rather tangential drum arrangement. Written and performed mostly on my fathers keyboards which I really cant play at all well.
Politics - Lots of views and lyrics of a personal view of some of the things people would like to say in the UK
Man In Black - Exercising my own demons. Really earthy blues rock with a rare for me slide solo
Rental Blues - Could be called Landlord's Blues if you are in the buy to let game.
Running Without Shoes - Where I would be without the love of my life. It reminds me of an old English country dance but I am not sure why?
Road Trip - Skiing Trip
Don't Sound Like The Blues - Another progress on life explanation that started more slowly and bluesy and became faster hence the title.
Blow my Mind - Straight forward rock blues format. Could be about a woman but isn't, it's about someone who I allowed to get the better of me for a while, but not for too long.
