by Brick Fields

Their latest release “Shambhala” is filled with a fusion of blues, jazz songs with a sprinkle of country and nothing sounds so good. Breaking down the elements of the talents of this group will allow listeners to better understand where this power is coming from. Vocally, there is no match. Vocals are filled with character, animated, emotional, cool and smooth. They are able to bring the listener right into the storyline each and every time. The musical arrangements are exceptional as they balance those raw vocals creating an experience for the audience that they will soon not forget. Songs that give good representation of their sound are “The Moon is My Friend”, “Broken Down Soul”, “Higher and Higher” and their single “Shambhala”. Each has its own life force:

Album Notes
Song Reviews:

“Broke Down Soul” is about a young heart that has falling hard for love, making bad choices and having to live with them. This song absolutely carries this bluesy soul flavor to life in a most extraordinary way.

“The Moon is my Friend” is reminiscent of a simpler time when one could sit under the moon and have a friend in it. Played with acoustic guitar with a melancholy rhythm to it and soft vocals carries you into this dream like state becoming completely absorbed by the the moment. Being in the moment…in the now…there is nothing more peaceful in life. This song was arranged and delivered with such emotional way that you are left speechless.

“Higher and Higher” is about being high in life, walking on clouds, high in love and joy. This song has a smooth mixture of pop/jazz/blues energy to it. Vocals, harmony and arrangement is pure perfection.

“Shambhala” is a message of love, peace and unity amongst all people and races, all beliefs and for all walks of life. This song has a bit of a country/pop sound to it with a great musical arrangement which is always matched with great vocals. \

This is only a few songs that give indicators as to the quality of sound and talent Brick Fields has. “Shambhala” is available at most digital store fronts.

Larry Brick and Rachel Fields have a great sound. Their soulful bluesy blend is remarkable. Rachel's voice has a quality all her own; at times I hear a little Joan Bias in her voice, on this album. Live, she can sound like "Janis" , not an easy thing to do. Larry is a phenomenal guitar player. He knows the blues! Great album but had a little trouble understanding the lyrics at times.
