ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bright Channel has been described as inspiring and revelatory, dark and elegant, shimmering and roaring. One thing is for certain, Bright Channel's music defies categorization. This is a rock band with a wide variety of musical influences and a clear vision for the future. Since forming in June of 2002, this 3-piece has steadily grown a loyal fan base on the strength of their live appearances. Their signature sound consists largely of swirling, melodic guitars lapping against a wall of pounding rhythms. Encompassing the best of shoegazer, post-punk, indie rock, no-wave, brit pop and space rock, Bright Channel is forging ahead with a new sound that is highly stylized and unique.

Bright Channel's second album, "Self-Propelled", was recorded in their own Flight Approved Studio in Colorado in October 2005. Engineered, mixed and produced by BC! Released February 2006.

Bright Channel's first album was recorded and mixed in five days in May of 2005 with engineer Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago. Released September 2004.

This music creates worlds!
This CD far outshines the previous Albini produced S/T CD. (Hope Steve doesn't read this!) Jeff Suthers' production value is superb and brings a more live and organic feel to the CD. Don't get me wrong, both CDs present the listener/observer with the best music made this century, but as far as production goes Flight Approved studios is the place to make the music happen.

The songs are sonically bigger in scope, a little darker in nature, and more soaring in atmosphere. This is what happens if you let Bailterspace and Flying Saucer Attack play together in the same sandbox! If you don't buy this CD something is wrong with you - you should be institutionalized or something!
