ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bruce Bergh’s Valentines Day 2014 release, “Night Life”, is a collection of original romantic jazz vocal tunes written during 2011-13 as a nightlife entertainer in some of Chicago’s finest dining establishments. The songs of Night Life are arranged with orchestra and big band horns to emulate the traditional sounds of the "Rat Pack", as well as more contemporary singer-songwriter genres and can be used as a romantic audio backdrop to dinner parties, restaurants, & special events. As a composer, Bergh strives for memorable melody lines accompanied by jazz harmonizations with a positive message. Bergh performs weekly throughout the midwest, live on piano with vocal stylings in the Pop, Rock and Jazz Vocal genres.

In 2012, Bergh joined forces with the Chicago based band “Midnight". With their diverse horn section, they perform danceable covers of Classic Rock, R&B, Motown, Swing and other genres from the Billboard Top 40. From Glen Miller to Chicago to The Tower of Power; from the 1940‘s through today.

Bergh studied at Sherwood Music School and the University of Chicago, and has written hundreds of songs, commercial music and jingles, as well as arranged music for a large number of clients through the years at his three recording studios. As a professor of Music Technology, Bergh taught in four universities, done clinician work for MTNA, MENC, and NAMM conventions, and founded The Bergh Institute of Music Technology in 1999.

Bergh began touring at the age 23, and has performed in every state in the US, as well as hosted several musical events throughout the Caribbean. While representing several high profile music technology firms, Bergh has had the opportunity to work with Bob Moog, Ray Kurzweil, Stevie Wonder, Manhattan Transfer, Ray Charles, Floyd Cramer, Kenny Rogers, Take 6, Boys 2 Men, Kansas, and many other famous names.

Bergh has written and produced hundreds of recording projects, as well as served at several churches as a worship leader since 1993. Bergh also played organ for the Chicago Cubs, accompanying Harry Caray on the WGN Super Station.

In 2011, Bergh began a full time musical performance career. His success has allowed him to work as a full time writer, recording artist, producer, and performer. He currently resides in the Chicago area.
