ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bruce Williams is an alto sax player with quite an impressive resume. Bruce was raised in D.C. but now resides in north Jersey near NYC. He has performed with Roy Hargrove,Frank Foster, Little Jimmy Scott, Branford Marsalis, Russell Gunn, D.C. go-go bands, Stanley Cowell, KRS 1,STING, Ben Riley, the World Saxophone Quartet, and Malcolm Jamal Warner. He is a very versitle jazz musician that loves many styles of music. He also performs and records regularly on the underground neosoul circuit with Black I and Nick Rolfe. This recording represents the feeling of a real band playing modern jazz. Our music is about today's look at straight ahead, post bop, funk, and avant garde swing. It was recorded with everyone all in the same room to give the music hot & live vibe. We hope that you'll enjoy it.

Its a Crime...
...when cats like Bruce do not get the attention and recognition they deserve. I've been following Bruce for years. His earlier recordings on Savant are superb. Passionate, Emotional, Soulful, Original -- all elements of Bruce Williams's playing. These are qualities lacking in many of today's generation of musicians.

Thomas Jones

excellent and fascinating!
The quartet sounds like a very tight cohesive unit. This is definitely not "safe jazz" and some of the best music that I have heard in recent years.

This is the time I have heard of Bruce before I like his style of playing, and the cd is very nice.

Great CD
I heard a cut from this CD on the radio. I thought the cut was pretty funky. I ordered the CD immediately. I was impressed. I consider myself an audiophile so the fact that it is a pure recording made it even better for me. This is how a band sounds.

Bruce showed a wide range of playing styles and the group is very tight.

I truly enjoy listening to the CD over and over. It has prompted me to purchase his other CD as well.
