ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
When I was a child growing up I was lucky to have one of those uncles, who had an interest in astronomy and who wonted me to share in that interest, which I did with relish.

That feeling of standing with him looking at the night sky has never left me and is why today I have a telescope of my own and live in Finland (very dark nights here). This project is a reflection of that feeling in a musical form.

The 12 moons project is a celebration of the seasons of the moon, the name come from a number of sources such as Algonquin, medieval and pagan traditions. I have also included the 13th moon, the blue moon, for completion.

sounds like someone a long way from home
It sounds like someone a long way from home and of cause its is Racasan’s first year in his beloved Finland and the 12 moons represents the first years work in that new environment.

The soundscapes here just washes over you and are some of the most original music being produced today, delightful in their detail and not necessarily relaxing, a case of not knowing what to expect, and anticipate from this music.

The music provides space to visualise and see the music as an eerie, sombre landscape and because of this it comes off as being extremely beautiful and powerful

Welcome the unexpected, but not the arbitrary
