Dag Livgard was born in Vancouver, BC in 1959. He started playing guitar at the age of twelve, and in his late teens he was writing his own music and playing coffee houses in BC’s Lower Mainland.
In his twenties, Dag trained privately in opera performing numerous recitals around Vancouver while continuing his interest in folk, barbershop, country, and rock and roll. In 2001, he recorded an original country CD under the pseudonym Devan Black and one of the singles from that album, The Bridge, received radio airplay in Canada for a year.
In 2005, Dag teamed up with writer and lyricist Dan Konyha and the duo began writing songs for a children’s music CD based on the characters in the 3D animated series Bumblz. The CD, called Bumblz Tunes: Songs in the Key of Bee, was created with the intention of making music that both children and their parents could enjoy together.
Bumblz Tunes: Songs in the Key of Bee is available through independent retailers across Canada.
Today, Dag lives in Vancouver BC with his wife Julie and sons, Sean and Cole. He is co-founder and the Music Director for Bumblz Media, a Vancouver based company that is dedicated to creating high quality, non-violent entertainment for children.
