Busy McCarroll has a sneaky an sexy niche all her own. She is the feisty, sexy alien chanteuse, and the musicians behind her hail from unnanmed galaxies. She's sort of jazzy, "Ella-meets-Alanis," she remains intangible, literally creating that 'place in space' that she sings of. She's swanky, unexpected, mesmerizing and convinces us that 'it' exists as long as she is singing. Her sound is space chick provocative.
Busy has won numerous awards for her music. Including 'Best Album of 2000' Best Musical Production 2001 for her song titled 'VAGINA,' Best R& B 2002 for 'Mothers Day,' Best Jazz 2002 for 'I am The Day'...from NMMIC (New Mexico Music Industry Coaliton. Busy just received an AWARD for 'Best Musical Production 2003' for a single track title 'LOVE' that she sang with her 19 year old daughter, Alana Banner.
In the early 90's she was produced by Larry Blackmon,(of the Funk Group 'CAMEO')and sang backup vocals on the CAMEO CD 'In The Face of Funk'.
She is signed with with North Star Media Publishing Company in Los Angeles. Busy co-owns and operates a state of the art recording studio, 'Kludgit Sound,' in the funky hip artsy ghost town of Cerrillos, New Mexico, just outside of Santa Fe. The studio is built inside an Opera House built in the 1800's and is said to inhabit a ghost.
Busy's lyrics and melodies are ultra cool, odd and thought provoking, sending you on an inter-galactic journey into the world of espionage and kooky intrigue. Busy's strong, sensual and wild style combined with her stunning & cutting edge looks & always changing color hair, create a sweet visual & audio treat. The is a very very enjoyable CD. A musical journey that you'll want to experience again & again.
