THE CADILLAC ANGELS
2011 celebrates the release of two Cadillac Angels studio CD's. Entitled respectively "Lonesome Traveler" and "Kicks Like A Mule" , the discs contain 21 smokey, swingin', greasy original tracks that according to founding member and band leader Tony Balbinot "are my finest works to date".
The Cadillac Angels remain a vital practitioner of early rock and blues, and as generations of new fans discover the band and their catalogue they systematicly release material that is relavent, potent, emotionally charged, and haunting . "A true american treasure", "The band that won't go away", or "Action packed" have all been used to describe their appeal.
With a riveting live show and hundreds of original dance freindly songs at thier disposal, thier hypnotic appeal is easy to understand.
Having spent the better part of three decades honing their craft through relentless touring and recording of their own material (as well as backing Wanda Jackson, Carl Perkins, Link Wray, or Dale Hawkins) they are a lean mean swingin' machine with an honest delivery that deeply connects.
When asked to recount his best performance Tony Balbinot states: "That's easy... that'd be tonight's show!".
Truer words were never spoken!
