Album Notes
"See the Colourless" voted by fans the best portuguese EP in 2012 in Metal Imperium Webzine!

Calamity Islet is best described as a melodic death metal band from the ‘Mediterranean Pearl’, Madeira Island. Their unique sound is a blend of five different personalities, their individual instrumental abilities, and a shared love for well-constructed, groovy Death Metal.

The concept for “See The Colourless” is really to see what is often invisible to most of us, and to really get to know ourselves and who we trully are in order to understand what surrounds us. To see what has no colour and to dwell with your own demons, and then to realise that the world you live in is even more worst than you could ever imagine. The “story” is actually written backwards, wich means that the actual storyline, when it comes to lyrics, would start in “Mourner’s Legacy” with reflections upon your inner self, and the way you can become a martyr to others if you are one to yourself, then facing judgement and punishment for you sins in “The Seventh”, going through a psicological “Havoc”, eventuallly realising that the chaos is not just inside your head but all around you aswell, seeing the environment you are forced to survive in, when everyday you deal with “Death’s Warm Embrace”, realising that stupidity is in fact the “Crest Of Humanity” and finally discovering your role and it’s helplessness in the twisted world we live in, in a “Limelight Upon Misery”.
The artwork illlustrates this concept but goes even further and draws a face to represent the havoc we wreak upon ourselves, the “God Of Misery”, who stands quietly in the background as the mastermind behind an apocalypse to come, siting in his throne while cities burn down and the human race drives itself to extinction, while in possession of the dodecahedron in wich our souls are forever captive. In the middle of the calamity senseless beings walk in hypnosis unable to express themselves and live only to witness the mass extermination and worldwide doom caused by the numb state of mind they were forced to live in. For all this time, with eyes wide open and witnessing everything they were blind, only now as they face the inevitable end will they trully see the colourless.
We, Calamity Islet, sincerely hope you enjoy our very first studio effort, and have as much fun listening to it as we had composing and recording it!
