This CD was created in the studio without any preparation or specific intention. My husband John knew it was time for me to record again, so I did...trusting that whatever music desired expression would come through. Our gratitude and love go to Venus, The Morning and Evening Star and The Sun, brother & sister; son and daughter of Nanna, the Moon and Ningal, the interpreter of dreams; and the memory of the love within to express that inspiration that lies hidden within us all.

In the Light of Love
A renowned harpist whose instrumental albums and performances have worked wonders in hospitals, rest homes, and therapy centers, Amy Camie places trust in the stars, vibrational awareness, and the loving openness of her intentions when making music. For In the Light of Love Camie just went into the recording studio because it "was time," and proceeded to create this album without any real blueprint for her musical directions, just letting the moment guide her gifted fingers along the strings of her instrument. The result is quietly moving, reverent, enraptured, and incredibly relaxing.
With tracks named after corresponding times in the day as well as moods and feelings, In the Light of Love is a spiritually awake journey through the miracle that is a single day in a human life, a planetary rotation, a rising and falling of the sun and moon. Opening track "Morning Star" carries more than a passing thematic reference to "Greensleeves" and other organ cathedral-style melodies, like a happy wanderer passing various church services on the way to a relaxing Sunday brunch with friends. "Devotion" is a meditation on more familiar classical music, both deeply spiritual and yet light and buoyant as a passing butterfly. "Dusk" creates a mood for both relaxing at the end of another day and quietly expecting the night to come.
The tracks flow lovingly together, making this an ideal choice for rainy Sundays spent looking out the window, too distracted to meditate but with a longing heart that could use some directions in getting home. Camie's brilliant harp captures the attention of the errant heart and gently guides it back to simple gratitude and open awareness, love for all life and nature, and respect for the vastness and molecular simplicity of the universe. The album is a day in the life of the planet Venus, and the album is dedicated to "the morning and evening star, and the sun; sister and brother; daughter and sun of Nanna, the Moon, and Ningal, the Interpreter of Dreams." The dreams are pure and the intent is fine in the sublime spaces and gentle majesty of In the Light of Love. Whether to help children nap or turn a day of housecleaning into a day of sublime recollection and relaxation, or wherever you may go, Camie's vibrational awareness is happy to come along and help you heal and attune with every move you make.
