In a swirl of sights and sounds, a thousand faces pass by; different lives, different pasts, presents and futures. A thousand takes on fantasy and reality converges in one grand, moving celebration...
The Big Parade. It’s a perfect metaphor for the jazz album from vocalist Camille Harrison. Drawing substantial experience in a variety of stylistic settings, Camille focuses on the music she’s come to embrace as a calling. The result is a stunning set that includes some of jazz’s most recognizable classics, along with a sampling of Camille’s own compositions.
Born in Music City, Nashville, Tennessee and raised in the musical melting pot of Memphis, Tennessee, Camille began to gather her diverse range of musical influences literally at birth, thanks to her classical-pianist Mother and a Father who promoted country music concerts. As Camille’s own interest in performing grew, she found as much to like in the down-home heart felt beautiful voice and phrasing style of the legendary Dottie West to the sophisticated pop style of Barbara Streisand to jazz icons Ella Fitzgerald and eclectic jazz styles and arrg of Rickie Lee Jones, along with her favorite Metropolitan Opera coloratura, Lily Pons.
Don’t let The Big Parade pass you by!
