ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Blends of New Orleans influences are injected into this 10 track CD carrying a cool rock and blues style to the listener for a pleasurable sonic trip. "Freedom's Call" starts on the road with a finger picked blues song "Ain't No Lie". This track is an acoustic down home tribute to the past guitar players who laid a foundation of folk style blues across the south. "Can't Take My Joy" jumps the pace up a notch or two and rolls into a jazzy start of three cruzin’ tracts to follow, “Don’t Look Back”, “Step It Up” and “Closer to You”. "Your Love'' a song written for Stephy, gives us a swirl of golden tone and colorful lyrics. “Twilight” follows mellow as a country road softened by a summer rain. ”Mighty Hand" drives us along followed by "Clear Skies” brining the listener to the title tract "Freedom's Call". A powerful progression with delicate guitar voicing and tight interplay between musicians leaving the listener at the destination refreshed!
Growing up in New Orleans and spending time in the colorful French Quarter, a large variety of music performed by great musicians met Craig's ears. From seeing unknown street musicians belting out the blues, the Dukes of Dixieland at night on the river, Zebra rockin' Friar Tucks, the Allman Brothers' three hour sets at the Warehouse, Jazz funerals, and even the refined concerts of the New Orleans Symphony, he was influenced by the heartfelt feeling projected in many songs. Growing to love that feeling in all styles of music and drawing from these past experencies, he creates music with feeling. No one song reaches all, but each song reaches a few. Kick back and experience the music. Enjoy listening and be part of the feeling!

This cd has very straightforward lyrics, and the instruments are meant to be as meaningful and impacting as the words. Those who appreciate heartfelt and expressive guitar work will appreciate the message created by these songs.
