ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
CORPORAL was born at spring 2006 from the meeting from a young singer - Cecile - to the crystalline voice, animated by the classic opera sing and having a broad tessiture; and the song writer - Paul - drumer and impassioned by creation. Inspired by the voice of Cecile, this last connects the compositions then giving birth at the end of a few months to the containt of their first album "Turbulences". Cecile writes the first lyrics and will be joined by Sophie JUMEL and Elisabeth SCHNEIDER in the (female)writing of the album.

A Nice Album
Let me start off by saying that I'm just starting to learn French, so I barely understand any of the lyrics in this album. For this reason, you might do well to take my opinions with a grain of salt.

Anyway, I like this album quite a bit. I'm a fan of electronic music, particularly the sort of mellow-but-not-too-mellow kind that you get with artists like The Postal Service. While it's not the primary feature, you do get a fair bit of that in this album (right alongside more traditional instrumentation). The songs on this album, while not all that long, are longer than most songs; most of them clock in at about four minutes. I think the band sounds rather similar to Evanescence, but instead of guitar being the primary intstrument, electronic music is. The vocals are very, very good, and I cannot emphasize that statment enough. In my opinion, the best tracks on here are Boîte à malice, Emmy, and the titular Turbulences, in that order. If you're looking for a good French album, I highly recommend Turbulences.
