Winner, Most Highly Commended Prize ("Gifted"), 2010 Tom Howard Contest for Poetry
Nominee, 2010 Pushcart Prize ("Wait" with Jeanann Verlee)
The title for the album comes from the Roman architect who inspired Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man or “measure of a man” sketch. Building off of much of his earlier work, Gómez continues his musings on what it “means to be a man” in a world increasingly defined by war, conflict, and the absence of constructive male role models. The poems address such varied themes as sexuality, love, identity, race, and inspiration.
Only 333 individually numbered hard copies of this album exist. When those are sold out, it will only be available for digital download.
