ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
These 5 test mixes are unpolished: just raw enough to make you wonder where the colorful imagining of all this sound came from. If you've been lucky enough to see the Car Music Project perform -- whether at Lincoln Center's Out of Doors Festival, at Musikfest, or in a gallery -- you know that nobody else sounds like the Car Music Project.

"It's as if the entire history of music has been rewritten from scratch."
-- Tullio DeSantis, Reading Eagle

"...a fusion of jazz and classical sounds ..."
-- Nik Berg, London's Daily Telegraph

"... Basically, it's a free jazz outfit that manages to get an entirely musical sound out of its unusual instruments."
-- Lancaster Online.com

"...a child-like fascination with Frankenstein's monster ..."
-- Carlton Wilkinson, Asbury Park Press

No Hot Wax
The basis of the idea is interesting music from instruments made out of car parts. Some tracks work others don't. Hope to hear more when a bit more polished.

No Hot Wax
The CD is a conversation and good "on the road" listening. It shows what can be done with recycled parts. Obviously, the musicians knew how to play standard wind instruments or they wouldn't have been able to make this amazing recording. Nice gift for someone who either likes jazz or old cars or both.
