Album Notes
Suite Christmas Rush is the first international release for Carrie Lyn Infusion. Born out of a request from an Australian Christmas light display enthusiast who was looking for new music to top his last two years of winning displays, Ryan of Ryan’s Christmas Lights from Salisbury East found “that violynist”, Carrie Lyn, from a You Tube entry from the 2006 TSO contest she was encouraged by her husband to post even though she was not one of the instrumentalists sited for consideration. Ryan felt that her Christmas carol medley she had played would be perfect if only a fresh original accompaniment could be available. Although she tried to get things together for 2007, the project fell on poor timing and band personnel changes. With new hope for the New Year, Carrie Lyn was pleased to inform Ryan that not only did she have her band willing to arrange and compose the piece; the Carrie Lyn Infusion lineup for 2008 was an absolutely outstanding group of musicians. The band had been on a bit of a break with a prayer to have the right combination of talent, chemistry, focus, and love of soul driven original music that she and her long time guitarist, Martin “Marty” Bappert had been writing and performing.

On February 2, (just happens to be Carrie Lyn’s birthday) of 2008 everything changed when she meet Rudy “Ruff Stuff” Wilson, electric bass player, while attending the Illinois State High School Concert Band performance in Peoria, Illinois, with her daughter. Never passing up a chance to chat with new musicians, Carrie learned Rudy was getting ready for a gig that evening with the Illinois 144th Army National Guard Jazz Band, but was interested in her music and thought his friend ,comrade, percussionist, Emanuel “Manny” Smith, might enjoy making some new music too. Sharing a jam with the new rhythm section and Carrie Lyn’s composer/keyboard, percussion friend, Joel Everett, Carrie Lyn and Marty knew the right combination of talent and chemistry was finally in the same place at the same time. Everyone agreed to continue writing, performing, and recording as Carrie Lyn Infusion. This was quite the answer to prayer - as Rudy and Manny are committed to drive four hours from their home to rehearse on Saturday mornings, leaving at 4am for an 8am arrival, calling Marty when they are an about two hours out, so he can time his commute, with Joel, not a morning person by a long run, managing his 45 minute drive for an all day rehearsal. Having the luxury of only two to three rehearsals a month, Carrie Lyn Infusion feels blessed to share this piece that may have taken two years of patiently waiting for the Lord’s perfect timing, but also the God Speed to present this music with only two rehearsals!!

With special thanks to husband, Joe Davids for his sound engineering and daughter, Christie Davids for album artwork, Suite Christmas Rush is a riveting and rockin’ music-logue of traditional Christmas Carols that celebrates Christ’s birth with an introduction from “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, an invitation to join on racing camelback “We Three Kings”, who traveled fast and furiously to find just what happened that “Silent Night, Holy Night”, asking the epic question “What Child Is This?” , receiving the glorious strains of confirmation from “Angels We Have Heard On High”, that indeed, Christ our Savior had been born, bringing “tiding of comfort and joy for us who have gone astray” . . . With all the exhilaration of this blessed Holy Season, Merry Christmas from Carrie Lyn, Marty, Joel, Rudy, and Manny and enjoy your - Suite Christmas Rush!
