Album Notes
Started by film and theatre composer drew Edwards, this Brooklyn, NY band's debut is a moody collection of wistful, anthemic, hook-filled songs resonating with New Wave elegance, lyrical songwriting, and piano driven melancholy.

Fuelled by the infectious catchiness of "boy wonder" and the soaring, dance-inflected "here i am again", "l'esprit" continues to be one of the best-kept underground pop music albums of the last two years. This bold effort, produced in Edwards' home studio, displays a keen intelligence, and a popularity that has spanned from California to Great Britain. Destined to be an underground classic, your CD collection is hungering for this indie-pop gem.

Available at iTunes, Rhapsody and many other digital music retailers!

a beguiling blend of innocent sexuality and wise world-weariness
With hooks-heavy songs like "boy wonder" and "something that happens," cellar door's debut album might as well be titled their "Greatest Hits," but something tells me that the delicious lyrics and sensual melodies of cellar door will only grow stronger with each new release. Drew Edwards can move from the role of wide-eyed innocent to restless cynic within a phrase and the layers of his music never fail to support the shifts. "newkirk ave." and "new boy" are also sure to please those who prefer their pop intelligent but sing-along ready.

stunning debut, a must-have.
hmm, what can i say about this album? it's the type of record that you fall for immediately upon first listen. at times rekindling the 'kid a' flame from a few years back, but more frequently it parallels the emotion of the postal service's 'give up' or the doves' 'lost souls'. drew's voice is sweet and compliments the melodies on the album perfectly. lastly, 'boy wonder' is sure to become an anthem in months to come...sincere, relevant and catchy as all hell.

Enchanting. A gem I'll listen to for years to come.
Amazing lyrics and compositions. These songs will stay with you wherever you go. I'm truely ecstatic that I quite literally stumbled across this cd. Highly recommended.

Wow. This is fantastic, definatly a must have. This is great, boy wonder is awesome. Wanted to purchase but its out of stock, i added my name to the list so hopefully there will be more copies avaliable soon. Although its not type of music i usually listen to but this is album changed how i feel about, well i dont know quite how its classified, certainly a brand new sound. Fantastic. Fantastic.

A brilliant debut from an important new voice.
Songs that get lodged deeply in your mind. You find yourself singing choruses from this album all through your day. Boy Wonder is a nugget of genius. Here I Am Again is the danciest ode to regret ever! We Would Have Beautiful Children is a brilliant curiosity. Edwards' piano playing and technological wizardry are in the pantheon of D'Ntel and Ben Folds.
The more you listen, the more you love.

Cellar Door Rocks da house! I love it all. Boy Wonder is so effing clever it makes me giggle and smirk everytime. Sometimes it gives me goosebumps. Here I am Again especially sounds good full blast in the car with the windows down, lyrics (and the song) something that happens - excellent. I could go on and on. The whole album is a perfect blend of electronica and rock to get you all stirred up! Great mix of clubby upbeat and more mellow songs. The production is strong. I love the vocals - boyish and well...real. I'm not sure another voice could capture the essence of each emotion evoked within. Can't wait to hear more!
