Album Notes
"Cerebelus writes and performs soulful R&B-oriented songs with a rock/pop edge. From bluesy ballads to punchy aggressive tunes and even some country-western leanings, their sound just can't be pinned down.

The duo was formed in October 2009, and evolved from a need for two musicians/lyricists to create an outlet for the daily grind of life, and to fill a void that only expressive, soul-searching music and performing could fill. Originally, Rachel and Armando met while playing with another band, but decided to go duo when the band split.

Bringing fresh, original music to their first open mic, they were excited and grateful to be favorably received with applause and song requests for their originals. This awesome experience motivated them to make writing and producing a priority, and really push the envelope in discovering what they could do. When they found themselves playing a gig for a Kinky Friedman event, they decided to go for their dream of recording and performing their music as a career.

Their sound is inspired by a wide range of artists and genres, stretching from 60s rock to Talking Heads to Blue Grass to Brian Eno. Armando will pick up any instrument you put in front of him but his heart belongs to the acoustic guitar. He sings for fun (and on a few tracks), but leaves the belting and cooing to his multi-talented bandmate, Rachel, who also plays guitar and has recently grown pretty fond of the bass.

"Making music is the sole reason we have no problem staying up all night, in the middle of the week, with a pencil, mic, guitar and a bottle of wine...or two. Originality is the gift that stands out in our music. It's quite unique and that's the way we like it (and plan to keep it)."
