World Wide Vibe Records artist and New York post-punk rock legends Certain General return with Live it Down, a collection of twelve new songs. Featuring the vocals and bass playing of Parker Dulany, the guitars and harmonica of Phil Gammage, and the drumming of Kevin Tooley, this album will be sure to please old fans as well as convert new ones. Live it Down was recorded in New York and produced by Kevin Tooley.
Highlights among the songs include the neo-noir groove of "Eye Contact," the infectious straight ahead rock of "Sunshine Army," and the unforgettably hook-laden "Anew Day Everyday." Guest musicians include the magnificent vocalist Julee Cruise (on "Golden Horses"), guitarist David Lee (on "Sign of Love"), and bass player Andrew Heermans (on "Live it Down").
Live it Down is now available internationally in digital download format from iTunes, Amazon, and other online vendors. It is the first Certain General album since 2010's critically acclaimed Stolen Car (also available through World Wide Vibe Records)
Certain General is an American rock band formed in the 1980s by singer Parker Dulany and guitarist Phil Gammage. They have been called 'the missing link between Television and Sonic Youth' while attracting comparisons with the Doors, Velvet Underground and Birthday Party.
Although various personnel and label changes have occurred over the years, Dulany, Gammage, Tooley, and Heermans continue to record and perform.
