Throughout her career as a classical pianist and solo performer, Caren Goodin Evarts has developed an affinity for interpreting piano works of a Romantic nature.
"Quiet Classics" presents the beautiful, lyric works of Bach, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Debussy and other composers in original form; some are excerpts and some in their entirety.
Caren Goodin Evarts, recording artist,composer, and teacher, was born in Indianapolis in 1942. Throughout her formative years, she studied and performed at Jordan Conservatory in Indianapolis, and as soloist with orchestras.
College study included Oberlin College and Conservatory, Indiana University, and Butler University in the Mid-West, where she obtained her Bachelors, and Masters Degree in Piano Performance, then came East to teach at Hartt College University of Htfd. from 1968-1976. Since that time she taught, preparing concerts at Miss Porters School in Farmington, Connecticut, and at her home studio in nearby Bristol. In June of 2007, after thirty-one years on the Piano Faculty at MPS, Caren and her husband, Steve, retired to Tucson (Marana) Arizona, where she continues to share her musical gifts.
