Album Notes
Pap & Paella has won the award for the best instrumental album released in 2008 in South Africa!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!

CH2 & SSQ “Pap & Paella” is arguably the best instrumental album to come out of South Africa. The two groups met through music and an instant synergy was evident. The music on this album embodies the true spirit of South African Music with Spanish / Flamenco rytmns done the CH2 way.

“Pap (traditional African maize porridge) & Paella (traditional Spanish seafood and rice dish)” combines the styles of music of the two well-known South African groups to form a unique sound and genre now reffered to as “African – Latin”. Featuring the ever popular “Imbube” otherwise known as “The Lion sleeps tonight”, with other favourites like Fragile, Madiba Jive and Time after Time.

This unique album promises to be a journey deep into your musical senses …

Let the vibrant, fresh and exciting sounds of this collaboration entertain you!

A Real Treat !!!
I have been working as a free-lance, non-profit, representative for SSQ in Norway since 2002 when I was lucky enough to see SSQ on stage in Kampala, Uganda. I have had many nice talks on phone or by email with SSQ's cello-player Mr. Reuben Khemese and their Office Manager Mary-Ann Nonceba. In September 2003 my son and me were special invited guests to their collaborated concert with Manu Dibango, a saxophone-giant from Cameroon. I am in a nice contact with the South African Embassy in Oslo, Norway, and I'm updating the Embassy as best as I can. I thought I had all SSQ-CD's in my music-library until I found this nice one at CD Baby. I think that all the tracks speak for themselves, lots of fun and elegance. CH2 is adding a wonderful guitar-spice to the vibrant SSQ-fiddles. This CD both for sophisticated lovers of South African music as well as it is a CD for freshmen. I don't know much about CH2, but I will certainly know more about them. No wonder why SSQ is called "The Symbol Of Africa's Perfection" after listening to this one. Please spoil yourself with this example of pure African fun. You deserve to have a break from the climate-changes and all the shit in the world. Do not forget to search for all the SSQ releases. Welcome !!!

They blow you away!
This is my 2nd CD from CH2 and once again the variety between traditional and modern flamenco sounds combined with South African elements is outstanding. The interplay with SSQ harmonizes in a genial kind of way. For me this CD is more than an insider tip.

Great Stuff!
