"... a capturing voice with a wide range that she handles in a skilful way... she is able to truly engage the listener...An outstanding band that deserves the attention of a widespread audience." Jazzflits
Charllotte is of German-Swedish origin and living in Amsterdam since 1998. Here she studied jazz-vocals at the famous local Conservatory. During her studies, she also went to Sweden where she explored Swedish Shepard-music and Scandinavian Folk. These influences gave her an own sound and her music the final touch.
Her first CD “A Wish in the Dark” was released in 2007 and received 4 stars from Platomania.
This album “ Vingar” (wings) from 2010 is with Christian Doepke on piano, Sven Schuster on double-bass and Gunnar Graafmans on drums and is sung completely in Swedish and musically based on Charllotte’s Nordic roots combined with Jazz and other Worldmusic influences. She sings a lot of repertoire in this genre. The material involves, besides her own compositions, modern arrangements of Folk and Shepard traditionals aswell as Swedish Jazzclassics. There is a great possibility that more recordings in Swedish will follow this EP.
Charllotte's emotional ties lie in Sweden's Darlarna, where her late grandmother used to live. The Swedish nickname "Lotta", was used also as her stage-name for quite some time.
