Natives of Hempstead, Long Island (NY), Charmise & Tabreeca are the 6th and 7th children, respectively, born to Bishop E. L. & Evangelist Eva Woodside. As children, they had no choice but to join their siblings as they traveled with their parents singing together as "The Woodside Family". They performed at concerts, community events and prisons, bringing the ministry of music before their father would preach the gospel.
Wanting to be used by God each and every time they sang, Charmise & Tabreeca are at the threshold of the music ministry that God has opened for them. Collectively and individually they have worked with such artists as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Edwin Hawkins, the CD Hawkins Singers, Mariah Carey, Joe, Christian McBride, and Donnie McClurkin. Currently they can be heard on the new Edwin Hawkins' Music and Arts Seminar CD, recorded "Live" in Oakland, CA June 2002, as the lead vocalists of the song, "Give Him Your Life".
To better understand these two young women, these words will give you insight into their hearts:
Jesus came to heal and save the lost but not only that, he came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). In the world today we are surrounded by the tasks that are at hand and that's life; but what has set believers apart is the way we view and respond to this life (James 1:2-4). We are a people who take what life has given us and we turn it for the glory and honor of God (Psalms 24:1). We are a people who look at the tactics of Satan and with the help of the Holy Spirit stand firm in the promises and empowerment of the Word of God. We speak to the mountain and it moves (Mark 11:23)! We are the examples.......the vessels God wants to use. We've been created for this purpose and this purpose alone! (Gen 1:26-27)
Let these songs minister to you as we celebrate our Lord and His overcoming power.
