Music for Kitties is a whimsical romp through a variety of styles: classical, broadway, modern, jazz, new age, ethnic and pop. Most tracks are combinations of several styles. These tracks are meant to amuse and entertain the kitten-listener in all of us. That part of us that likes to jump up on the piano and run up and down the keys.
The serious side of Music for Kitties, is that I hope to raise enough money to create CD copies, complete with artwork I designed, which will be donated to local pet rescue organizations to help them pay for things like cat food, immunization, long term care, and sterilization (neutering). The point of neutering is to prevent more kittens from being born into homelessness, starvation, illness and mistreatment.
Music for Kitties was inspired by Nora the Piano Playing Cat, and is dedicated to the memory of Purrman, a sweet, gifted tabby with white paws, muzzle and belly, who always extended his paw when he wanted to communicate something. Purrman touched many hearts while he was with us. He now awaits his family at the rainbow bridge.
