Album Notes
This Cd recorded and released in 1994 has become the watermark in the recording/performing career of artist Chris Chandler. Chandler who hails from Savannah, GA which also happens to be the home of songwriter extraordinaire Johnny Mercer.

Upon returning home in the mid 1980's from the Washington DC area. Chandler ran into legendary pianist/arranger Ken Palmer. Once Chandler became acquainted with Ken Palmer's genius and connection to Johnny Mercer, the recording and arranging of Southern Charm and Swing began. This project took over 9 months to record.

Chandler/Palmer chose Savannah native Phil Hadaway as recording engineer for this project. Phil is one of Savannah's best kept secrets. Phil is an extraordinary sound engineer. But more importantly Phil poured his heart and soul into theis frecording. Phil's studio, Reeltime, At this time was located in the old Rody's Music store on the southside of Savannah.

All musicians used in this recording were from Savannah. Notably Ken Palmer, piano/arranger: Joe Jones, Hammond B-3: Becky Grandy, Background vocals. Johnny Kennedy, Stand Up Bass; Jimmy Griner, Eric Vaughn drums, Tracy Yarbrough Trumpet, Rob VanOtterloo Trombone, Randy Reese, Alto Sax English horn, Bobby Chandler, Tenor Sax, members of Savannah Symphony String section and Chris Chandler Vocals and piano.

The album was recorded using no synthetic instruments. It was mixed in Bosstown Studios in Atlanta, GA and mastered in Nashville, TN

This album, released on independent Playing Dude records has sold internationally over 20,000 copies and going. and has earned Chris Chandler a stellar career and one of the Southeast US top Swiung orchestras. Chandler has a patent and tradcemark registration on the name "Southern Charm and Swing" He and his orchestra, based in Atlanta, Ga continue
to tour and perform in the US. They were welcomed to St. Petersburg and Moscow in the summer of 2003 for the 250 anniversary of St. Petersburg, Russia, And the Baltic jazz Festival.
