Originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Chris grew up listening to Classic Rock, Country, and Motown.
After studying music in Boston, he recorded a song, which won 2nd place in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. This caught the attention of Sony Pictures, which picked it up for the smash hit TV series, Dawson's Creek. it was rumored to be Katie Holmes' favorite song on the season!
He signed with Empire/BMG in NYC, and recorded his self titled debut, and then hit the road on a nationwide, eight month radio and television promotional tour, of over 400 stations! which resulted in three top 30 Billboard hit singles. He then went back out on the road with a 5 piece band he put together with friends from Berklee, opening for such major acts as Hootie & the Blowfish, Foreigner, Blues Traveler, Sugar Ray, and Grammy Award Winner, Sean Colvin, to name a few. Chris reflects on the last scheduled show of Ray Charles. He was to be the only opening act, but sadly, Ray fell ill and he never got the chance.
After touring, he moved to Nashville, where he recorded "Shadow Of You" with some of Nashville's most talented Row Aces! He penned 7 out of the 14 songs, and recorded tons of songs by some of Nashville's Top Writers. As record stores closed and the industry went online, Majors began to consolidate and thin the heard, and the album was shelved, and now is only available online.
Look for a new record soon!
