Eversholt Street

by Ciccone

Recorded and produced entirely in the band's bedroom and is unashamedly British. It's honestly pure and spirited, brash and defiant. A perfect blend of punk ferocity with a dark pop sensibility.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Taking their name from Madonna (and Sonic Youth's short-lived side project), the band's influences come from The Clash, Blondie, Velvet Underground, The Smiths, Lou Reed, Television and 50's rock n roll.

These London based rabble-rousers originally from Derby and Lincoln are to release their debut album this year. Their first single 'Forget Your False Mess'iahs - EP' was released in July 2001 and produced by Nille Perned (Wannadies). It reached National audiences when Steve Lamacq made it his single of the week on Radio 1's Evening Session and XFM gave it high rotation. As a result of all this airplay the band were fortunate to be contacted by an indie film maker who shot them a zero budget video that got played on both MTV and MTV2.

The band gained their first record deal at the beginning of 2002 to DIY label Muff records. Their second single 'All Stacked Up' was released May '02 to great reviews. It was not only played on Radio 1, but featured in Kerrang and the video was playlisted on both MTV and Kerrang TV. The British Council's 'The Selector' also broadcast it worldwide.

Ciccone have now signed a new deal to Human Recordings and already have a far reaching fan base in France, Spain, Germany, Mexico and the US through their global MP3 site downloads that reach into the tens of thousands.

'Eversholt Street' was recorded and produced entirely in the band's bedroom and is unashamedly British. It's honestly pure and spirited, brash and defiant. A perfect blend of punk ferocity with a dark pop sensibility, 'Eversholt Street' approaches issues with a stark yet sussed directness. Ciccone are a fine, intelligent band - sexy, sporadic and subversive.
