ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Melodic, lyrical, nostalgic and wholly original,
singer-songwriter Circe Link's music is an artful blend of styles
that pays tender tribute to its roots while boldly carving new territory.
Accompanied by acoustic guitars, mandolin, violin and upright bass,
a voice of pure feminine charm leaves red, red lipstick on your collar.
Circe's siren song beckons - an irresistible recipe
served up with a shot of Patti Page, a dash of Sara Vaughn, a side of Patsy Cline,
and pinch of Alison Krauss , Nora Jones and Fiona Apple.

In the spring of 2001, Circe Link never having written music before,
awoke one morning with a funny little song in her head.
Later that day another song came to her in traffic on the way home from her day job.
While making dinner that evening a third song appeared, refusing - like the others - to be ignored.
As it turns out listening to the voices in her head turned out to be a good thing,
for music is her true calling.
Working with a myriad of talented musicians,
Circe has been able to craft her memorable melodies and lyrics into a unique blend of
Jazz, Country, and Blues.
Her music is palpable and genuine.
To hear it is to feel as though you're in a Tennessee Williams play.
Her songs drip and swoon like a steamy summer night engulfing two lovers on the back porch.
These Infectious the melodies waft through the air
and settle like a familiar perfume in the dreams of all who hear them.

I realy like her voice
Liked the mix of songs

CD Baby

Wow...this is one immediately catchy, engaging and snappy blend of jazzy blues, country and folk that you might abbreviate as "country blues jazz" or "jazzy country." Polishing off the album with even more shine are her sweet, beautiful vocals, reminiscent of smacky country pop but expanded beyond the stylistic twang to please discriminating ears. Sometimes sassy and spunky, sometimes droopy, and blues-ridden. Prepare to be charmed.

Great songs !
The first song I heard was "Blue Bird Tattoo" and I was simply charmed, by her music, by her voice.
Since then I loved her music ! Simply great !

This is the real thing, darlin'
This gal is the real thing. Plain and simple. It's almost like this music was buried in a time capsule and just discovered, yet it's still current and vital. I fell head over heels the first time I heard, I Like Knowing You Miss Me, and the rest of the CD lives up to the promise of that song. From the heartbeaking honesty and soulful delivery of Call Him a Thief to the sweet sadness of Just One More Time, this record will not disappoint lovers of honest-to-goodness roots music.

What a voice!
Hearing Circe's voice was a reminder of how beautiful and inspiring the voices of old (Ella, Sarah, London, Page) were to the modern music scene. What a fresh collection of well written songs matched with an unforgettable voice not unlike the classics of this genre! Bravo to Circe and her band!

Great Disk!
Circe Link's CD, "More Songs" is a perfect example of why I love broadcasting so much: The discovery of hearing something totally new and different and then being able to share it with others. In a more perfect world artists like these would be a staple on the airways - Patrice Webb Host of Jukebox Sparrows on 95.1 KFOK in Georgetown California.
