ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Punk rock band Civil Disobedience, founded in 1989 in Saginaw Michigan, had a profound impact on the Hardcore / Punk Scene of the 1990's. Many fans refer to the band simply as “Civil D” for short. Referenced in the opening lines of a 2010 Rolling Stone interview with Laura Jane Grace, of the band Against Me, as a lifetime favorite and inspiration, often cited by several generations of rockers as a highly unique, essential and influential band, it seems their music has only grown in popularity and impact. Their unique approach transcends genre with timeless musician ship, thought provoking visual lyricism and accompanying artwork that's equally compelling. If you like hard driving tunes that send chills up your spine and raging vocal delivery with lyrics to match…then this band is for you! Don’t miss out! These guys are classic!
This full length album “Political Prisoners” is the first installment from Civil Disobedience. Originally released in 1992 as a demo, it show cases many of their earliest works. The first release from this genre bending band comes charging at you hard and fast, knocks you down, picks back up and has you hitting the replay button again and again! Wailing guitars, booming trolling bass, blasting drums, vocals that range from melodic to screaming with rage, all sown together with hard hitting sociopolitical lyrics and solid song construction. Civil Disobedience blends many diverse sounds, yet manages to remain very distinctly one band. You can definitely hear strong 1980’s American and European Hardcore influences on this record. This release contains the usual high quality musician ship and lyricism we have come to expect from this band. If you love classic Punk rock, or just prefer your music with some serious balls, you’ll love this!
