ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Clambake formed in 1994 in Bellingham, Washington as has been at the forefront of classic retro-rock ever since. Named after Elvis' worst movie (founding member Jim Nauseam wanted to name the band "It Happened At The World's Fair" but was outvoted) the band has crafted a distinct style, lyrically dynamite, often hilarious, and, sonically aggressive. You can hear tons of other bands in the music (Kinks, Stones, Love, Sonics) but won't be able to exactly place the riff, the melody, or the lyric. Actually a music historian's album and worth a listen for the rock music connoisseur.

CD Baby

A sizzling, red-glowing, cranked up grill whereupon slabs of the Stones, the Kinks, the Stooges and the Beatles bake at hair-melting temperatures, seared to have just a wee bit of gristle, just a touch of carbon, barely blackened and crispy on the edges but yet so damn juicy, you'll go through a roll of paper towels after one round. Clambake specializes in this type of feast, absolutely filling that pit of hunger for retro rock and yet stirring the need for a style that manages to have one foot still in the crunch rock of today. This is the perfect summertime music for cruising, BBQ'ing, kegging or whatever strikes your fancy.

Cooks
They’re rough, raw and ready to get baked. They are Clambake and they cook. Throw a mix of MC5, Stooges and New York Dolls attitude onto the barbecue and season well with catchy choruses, addictive riffs and whimsical wit.Add Three Less Bottles of Wine and perhaps a Pickle In your Pocket and you have a meal fit for your favourite music lover.Didja get all of that? Thanks.

CHINASKI

Crackles with "pop" intensity
These tunes are infectious - melodic and powerful at the same time. Clambake has crafted the consummate "hooks" album. Song after song crackles with the "pop" intensity and musical vocabulary of the rock greats of years past. If you're looking for that "special something" that's missing from today's rock - "Targeted For Oblivion" has what you're looking for.

GET BAKED
I eat dirt on occassion, but don't let that influence what you think of my review.

I love this record. I might even MOVE me.
I've had a blast listening to this record. It reminds me why I fell in love with rock n roll a long time ago.
