ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
We all feel a sense of sorrow as we see young people wasting their lives away. We all shed tears in memory of those who seem their number was called to soon. But how many times have we given praise to young people who have weathered the storm and dodged the potholes that line the streets of life? How many times have we watered the concrete roses that have grown and blossomed showing hope to a weeded garden? That time is now, and the concrete roses are CNS SYNDICATE; Nyquee Lowdown, Miscalaneous, Nite and Ras Emmanuel. These individuals know the meaning of hard work, determination, and beating the odds. Nyquee Lowdown, who received his name from hitting rock bottom then rising back up to escape street life and death on more than one occasion. Noticing when doing music he was not getting into trouble, Nyquee Lowdown decided to share his experiences of street life and wisdom, and the trials and tribulations one goes through when they chose the street life. Miscalaneous, who consists of Enonomous, the bookworm that everyone use to laugh at for being a nerd, has been producing, writing, and performing for over 18 years. Enonomous is described as the base of the group, the foundation. Then there is Etcetra, the connection between the top and the bottom. Etcetra has been producing, writing and spinning records for over 10 years. Then you have, Nite, known as the general, that leads her squad into battle. Nite has been rapping, writing and performing for 15 years, and was the MTV favorite and finalist in the MTV MC BATTLE. Enonomous, Lowdown, Etcetra, and Nite all grew up in the projects of East Orange, NJ, known as "Little City", forming CNS Syndicate in 2001 and have been rocking crowds ever since. Ras Emmanuel, the survivor of a Jamaica minus the palm trees, beautiful water, and tourist attractions. Growing up under the patrol of machine gun police, Emmanuel took to his music roots early sleeping around the studios in Jamaica doing promos for local djs to gain recognition. After coming to the United States, Ras Emmanuel's fire and passion to become a music legend continues to grow. Together they form a rhyme syndicate known as, CNS SYNDICATE, bringing you the cd;" HIDDEN AGENDA", which means more than just music and words, but a movement for all groups struggling to continue to keep the music alive, and never give up, while staying true to yourself.
From the first single "Do What You Do", the latin influenced melody sticks in your head. "ICU", not only displays the lyrical talent of Nite, but also is a beat banger for club or car radio. "Remember",by Ras Emmanuel blends r&b and reggae while exploring the subject of relationship infidelity. Hidden Agenda offers many roads for the listener to be astound that society's have nots, and the underdogs of the world, could produce music with soul and heart felt emotions. CNS SYNDICATE gives reflection on the meaning of what music means to them: "Music was always more to us than just beats and words, its been our surrogate parents when no one else was around. Our life preservers when we came close to drowning in the sea of life. Music is our life line that keeps us breathing and waking up each day. For us not to do music can be compared to pulling the plug on a patient that is on life support. Music is the yellow brick road that we are destined to follow!"
CNS SYNDICATE gives hope to a young generation that is forgotten, that anything with dedication and consistency is possible.
