ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The long awaited follow up to 2005's 'Laughter and Footsteps' compilation which first introduced the Cogs project to the wider public and became something of a small cult in the process. 'New Primitive' leaves behind the lo-fi/no-fi sound of 'Laughter and Footsteps' replacing the tape hiss and clunky pause tape endings with a well produced studio album.
Starting with the vicious funk of the opening track 'Running Out of Ideas' to the nihilistic rage of 'Car' and 'Stuck in a Room'.This album is indebted to post punk, No Wave and early industrial music with its spiky hooks and metal percussion. The album features a hand made sleeve, each disc is individually stamped with pullout lyric sheet.
