Album Notes
Colter Harper is a graduate of Duquesne University where he received a bachelors in jazz performance. Currently he is completing a PhD in ethnomusicology at the University of Pittsburgh under the direction of Dr. Nathan Davis. Colter has studied privately with Pittsburgh guitarists Jimmy Ponder, Eric Susoeff, Ken Karsh, Marty Ashby, and Joe Negri. His playing is informed by a wide range of styles beyond traditional jazz. In 2000 and again in 2005, Colter studied music in West Africa and continues to incorporate these experiences into his playing. "Better than the best"
Colter Harper and his cronies are talented. The CD is incredible but a LIVE experience is even better. Make sure to check them out and buy the CD.
