Album Notes
Austria may be known as the classical music capital of the world, but make no mistake, Cornerstone is here to rock. Carina Sethaler (Vocals, Guitar), Michael Wachelhofer (Bass, Keyboards, Vocals), Steve Wachelhofer(Guitar, Vocals)and Martin Key (Drums, Percussion)signed a record deal with US-label ATOM Records and have released their debut “Head Over Heels” in the same year. Following the release, the band was introduced of more than one hundred magazines and radio stations worldwide. Beautiful melodies, big guitars, a melodic bass and sad-aggressive lyrics about the small and big topics of this world quickly inspired the public, particularly in the U.S.A. and the U.K..

Some of the songs from the new CD are included in the motion-picture soundtrack for the film “Little Alien,” which will be shown in all Austrian cinemas and on television in spring 2009. The band‘s focus is nevertheless on the Anglo-American market. Cornerstone has won the “Next Big Thing Contest,” sponsored by Alternative Addiction, in March 2008 and had a No.1 hit on Chungardio Statesides. In the United Kingdom the band had a very successful tour in the fall of 2008, followed by reviews and interviews in the most important rock’zines (Powerplay, Fireworks, Classic Rock, etc.) and appearances on UK-Radio (f.e. in the Steve Price show/Radio ARFM). Cornerstone will be embarking on a follow-up tour through the UK in the spring, and a longer series of concerts stateside is in the works for summer 2009.

“Head Over Heels is a slick piece of work, the singer has a wonderful voice and the band know how to make decent melodic rhythms, defintely enjoyable”

“The material on Head Over Heels is a collection of very pleasant, well played, nicely produced radio friendly rock; trippy, laid-back music for a long drive on a summer‘s day. This band could quite happily be on heavy rotation on American radio: in the good old days, MTV would have loved this band.”

„This Austrian band traffics in a no-frills brand of music from both classic late ‚60s rock and modern indie rock without showing full allegiance to either era. „Leave“ and other tracks are buoyed by strong melodies and infectious choruses.“

Aggresively Upbeat CD Compiled of Original Contemporary Pop and Rock Arrangement
Cornerstone (AT) has recently released their debut CD “Head Over Heels.” It is an aggressively upbeat album compiled of uniquely original contemporary pop and rock arrangements. The vocals are embedded with strong and versatile flair which captures the listener’s attention right from the very first song. The lyrics are engaging and capture the essence this group has fused together within the delectable ballads or rock pieces. As a whole, the album sounds great, is well produced, and is ready to challenge the airwaves. “Something to Say” has a sprinkling of harmonies adding to the solid rock sound of this four piece group. Filled with strong power chords on the guitar and an edgier rock style, “Changed” is upbeat in tempo and charged with driving drum beats. The cast of band members are polished and well rehearsed as performances are merged with building beats, grunge guitars, and confident vocals. “Head Over Heels” is an album well worth hearing especially if you like The Cranberries or Alanis Morissette.
