ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A little funny + a little sad = a lot awesome. Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow is 5 new songs about losers, evil geniuses and giant squids. Sure, it's goofy geek rock and yes it's hilarious, but listen closely and it will break your heart. Coulton's is the voice of every spooky elementary school kid who could never quite keep his shirt tucked in or shoes tied; every lovelorn mad scientist (that's right, you know who you are); every one of us who has ever spent time alone during the dreaded "Couples Skate" at the roller rink.

"singer-songwriter stylings with all the versatility and winning wit of They Might be Giants"

"if Raffi liked to sing bad words every once in a while"

"like the Barenaked Ladies, but not soul-suckingly horrible in the least"

"Tom Lehrer with a guitar and a high fever"

Twisted, intellectual, catchy.
Another clever, twisted, intelligent, catchy group of songs that grow on you with repeated listenings. It wouldn't hurt to have the acoustic versions on the CD as well. Not bad for an old Spizzwink.

cool, suave, nuts & .........
I found the CD an inspiration,I am 66 years old, so I need all the inspiration I can get. Jonathan is cool, suave, nuts and lovely!

The New Laboratory Standard
Listening to Skullcrusher Mountain is a great way to keep yourself from killing your girlfriend when she gets to be a REAL pain in the ass 'cause it'll put a smile on your face, an unforgettable melody in your head, and it'll remind you that you are actualy in love with each other. What an awesome concept, this particular song is. Can't get the tune outta my head and when my girl's around, I sometimes playfully chase her around the apt. with her screaming (playfully)for help! It's a lot of fun! Highly recommended and a real bargain for the price CDBaby is asking!

Changes the World in a Tiny Way
If these songs were any better, any more beautiful and twisted, I wouldn't be able to do anything but listen to them over and over. Although style varies with each track, Coulton's melodic dexterity and lyrical wit tie everything together in one punchy burst of songcraft.

Very very good but...
...I JC used too many monkeys on this one.

Incredible
This CD is AMAZING. I heard of Mr. Coulton from a podcast, and now I am a diehard fan. Anyone who likes music or poetry should buy this CD.

There needs to be more songs like this
Definitely one of the best CDs I've bought this year. Great music and better lyrics. Check out his website as well-- there's some great freebies on it.

It rocks so hard!
This music is some of the strangest I've heard. It rocks SO hard!

Josh

Hilarious and eminently listenable
This EP is some of the most clever, satisfying nerd rock I've ever heard. And what's more, it's musically interesting and accessible -- the kind of music that get's stuck in my head but doesn't wear thin after a few listens.

Fantastic!
Wonderful -- lyrics are brilliant (and hilarious), sound quality and talent of artist is very apparent. Good stuff. Recommending to everyone I know.
