"Courage Band" To Take Part "In The Bahamas Junkanoo Tribute To The Miami Dolphins"
Miami-November 2003 - Miami Dolphins fans are in for a huge cultural and fun extravaganza during half-time show on Sunday, November 16, 2003. The music industry has been supplied with a fresh innovative band from Harbour Island, Bahamas, called "Courage Band" who will open the half-time show by unveiling their "Dolphin Hustle", a tribute song for the Miami Dolphins. In addition the Bahamian government will also present the Bahamian festival of Junkanoo that will include over 200 fully-costumed Junkanoos led by Quinton "Barabbas" Woodside, Langston Longley, Stan Burnside and representatives from all of the major Junkanoo Groups. Junkanoo is an energetic, colorful parade of brightly colored costumed people gyrating and dancing to the rhythmic accompaniment of cowbells, brass, drums and whistles. This marks the first time a foreign country has paid tribute to an NFL team.
Courage Band, under the management of Briland Management Inc. is a four-piece outfit from Harbour Island, Bahamas with a smoothly produced and original sound that brilliantly experiments with calypso, reggae, and local Junkanoo and pop styles. Artistic talent, discipline and a busy schedule have led to Courage Band's success and a string of engagements that include a supporting role in the Breakaway film "Bahama Hustle". The "Bahama Hustle" was filmed in Courage Band's hometown Harbour Island and Ft. Lauderdale earlier this year. The movie stars rap/radio personalities Ed Lover and Dr. Dre. Breakaway Films is a division of Maverick Entertainment and is distributed by Lions Gate Entertainment.
Courage Band truly reflects the diverse musical pulse of Harbour Island and is well on their way to becoming a household name in the United States.
