ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
songwriter / producer / recordist / rocker / folker / accountant

Mike Coykendall has put out over 15 albums of all original music since 1986. Starting with Kansas psych-trio Klyde Konnor through San Francisco's Old Joe Clarks and their haunting Americana chamber music. Coykendall continues to mix and evolve into new territory and now presents perhaps his most adventurous record to date "hello hello hello." Playing the majority of the instruments himself and recording it in his home studio on the off days between working with other artists such as M. Ward, Tin Hat Trio, Beth Orton, etc. "hello hello hello" is the work of an obsessed, hap-hazard, perfectionist at the end of his rope. Care to dangle?

This will change your life!
I have to tell you, that not many albums are as primal and beautiful as Hello Hello Hello. It is as if Jackson Pollack let loose his fractal genius on an audio tapestry. It seems all so random and esoteric, and then, it hits you that the whole album is calculated like Rain Man, who hopes that Ray's little brother learns there is a stray toothpick left in the box. Ok, maybe some won't understand what I speak of, but I do hope that those true students of genius music recognize the gorgous work that is Hello Hello Hello. Mike has created an album that not only has you looking for the extra toothpick in the box, but the one between your teeth.

Prejudiced Relative

Please
A perfect kind of prayer, that the Father would want to hear from his people more often. Beautiful sound and lyrics. Offers depth and variety to the well done album. GFC likes it.
