Bike Ride Around the Lake

Interesting Pop-rock tunes that boarder on both the heavier and lighter/ballady side of the spectrum.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
CHARLIE'S PIPE DREAM can be summed up in three words.. .the brothers Sanzeri. Nick and Joe Sanzeri have been performing live in the Chicago area for more than a decade now. Their former bands include Buckwild and Maelstrom. 1995 gave birth to their most successful project to date, CHARLIE'S PIPE DREAM. This new creation also brought on a new drummer, Matt Friscia.

The band's last release entitled "Primateen Mist" sold over 1000 copies and had to be repressed 3 times. Not bad, for an 8-track cassestte recording. To the band's surprise, "Primateen Mist" garnished very favorable reviews from local Chicago zines and local music shows. Most people saw that CPD had tons of potential. The reviews spoke for themselves. "A good producer could put them over the top"-ORB Confidential. "CPD makes a lot of impressive noise for a three piece" -Showcase Music Magazine. "This is a band that I predict we will watch break out on a national scale."-the BEAT magazine. The only national scale that the band has experienced to date was a short feature on the TV. show EXTRA!.

This band knows what hard work is all about which has led them to take most matters into their own hands. Through their own efforts, CHARLlE'S PIPE DREAM has managed to get played on WXRT, Q101 (WKQX), WABT; WIlL, and numerous college radio stations in the Chicago area.

Without trying to load on the rock cliche's, Fire-tone records is proud to have "Bike Ride Around the Lake" as their first release. We understand that there are so many bands and so little time (or interest for that matter), but we urge you to take a good look at this all around "good song" record.

holy crap this stuff is good!
Damn. Those midwest boys really can jam. I heard about this release awhile ago and only now discovered the gem of song writing and intensity that this disc holds. The fact that the songs on "Bike Ride Around the Lake" range from flat our quirky 3chord "hits" such as Teenage Daydream to the country flavor of Habits of the Heart to the pure beatles-esque, percussion filled "Put It in Your Hands" made this one of the more interesting releases that I have come across.
