ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Coyotes and Poets often find themselves unwanted and misunderstood.
In many places coyotes often find a bounty on their heads.
If not for certain laws we might find poets in the same uncomfortable position.

You have no doubt heard of stories and legends of "Coyote the Trickster".

Poets can be tricksters as well.

The trick of language bringing a moment to life, bringing the fantastic into the realm of reality...all tricks of the poet's trade. Yet more than mere trickery...

Music too, is such a magical thing, with its' ability to bring emotion into play without the use of words.

As we all know when music and words come together it can be a very powerful thing.

With that in mind we, Coyote Poets of the Universe, have brought our words and music to you with the purpose of bringing magic to life. Hopefully our playful nature expresses the trickster in us and emotions are what bring our magic to you.

This project features more great guitar work from our friend Neil Haverstick, as well as amazing poetry contributions from fellow coyotes Ray McNiece, Danny Solis, Jess Graf, and Michele Gann.

Thanks for listening.

"Music crosses with poetry, and poetry becomes painting."
"...Music crosses with poetry, and poetry becomes painting. The air is filled with voices, past and present; the prairie miles constantly tend toward my favorite intangible-actual, the trancendent."

Aiding & Abetting
Space western music (think Hans Zimmer's score for Thelma and Louise, but with more bounce). Then add in poetry read by the poets (and edited by the band). Some work better than others…that's the way of poetry, I think. But this is never dull. There's always something cool happening along the edges.
