ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is a "Best Of" album, presenting some of the best recordings over the past 15 years by the Craig Larson Trio and various guest artists. Four of the 12 tracks have not been previously released, two of which ("East of The Sun" and "You Must Believe In Spring") feature a very special vocalist, Angela Bingham. We think you will agree, Angela is the real thing--not an imitator, like so many singers these days. We should mention here that "East of The Sun" is a special tribute to our friend George Shearing, whose musical influence looms large in our lives. We will miss him. Other guests on this album are guitar greats Ron Eschete and Corey Christiansen, jazz singer Kelly Eisenhour, and clarinet master Terry Harrington. For the most part, we have drawn from the great American songbook--the two exceptions being "The Real Blues" and "Mr. Williams' Opus (Blues For Steve)". With those two tracks, we doff our caps to bass great Ray Brown (who wrote "The Real Blues") and long-time KUER Radio (Salt Lake City) jazz host Steve Williams. We hope you enjoy this offering. Our goal, as always, has been to bring you warm, swinging jazz that will appeal to your heart, mind and feet!

Immaculate standards
This album is SO tastefully done. It represents years of sensitive familiarity with the standards that are presented here. "Smile" is an especially warm tribute to George Shearing.
