Album Notes
I want to share with you a little about how I became who I am today, so here is a short biography about myself.
Barely able to stand and reach the keys of an upright antique piano at the early age of three, my parents noticed I was mimicking melodies that were the background noise of our kitchen on the radio. It was there I first discovered my love for music. I was greatly influenced by my families love for music. My mother Darlene, & her only brother Virgil “Rick” Mullins, my uncle, would play and sing almost every weekend, whether it be at a family gathering or just sitting around on the front porch “pickin' & grinin'. I was especially influenced by my Grandfather Virgil Mullins. He sang Roots Music or better known as traditional Bluegrass, he played the mandolin. He would come to visit us every July, you wouldn't have to ask if he brought his mandolin, I'm sure it was the first thing packed in his car. If you were to ask my family, they would say, I grew up cutting my teeth on the back of a Baptist church pew. At eleven years old I penned my first song in entitled “We will rise after the fall” I played piano & guitar and sang with my grandparents quartet from 12 years old until I turned 17. They traveled all over West Virginia, Kentucky, & Ohio to churches around the tri-state area ministering the Gospel of Jesus. It was there I honed my Southern Gospel Sound. I have played piano and sang with numerous professional Country & Gospel artists, from Jack Greene, Jeannie Seely, Jan Howard, and Jean Shepard from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, to some of Gospels Greats; The Gospel Harmony Boys & The Royal Heirs. I have written over 300 Gospel songs and have performed across the U.S. for the past decade. I gave my life to Christ when I was eleven years old, and was baptized that same year. I was born in Logan County West Virginia but, grew up in Huntington WV. I attended Marshall University, & Middle Tennessee State University, Where I majored in audio engineering and Music Law I love the Lord with all my heart, and ask God daily to help me become a man of prayer, and not to always try to do everything on my own.“Without you Lord I couldn’t do anything”.
