Album Notes
I started out singing other people's songs. I wrote my own songs, but for a long time I couldn't sing them in public because they were so personal. As I became stronger, it became easier to sing my own songs, and I now only record songs that I've written. When a song pops into my head (one of my own), it's a combination of pop, rock, soul, rhythm-n-blues, jazz, or any combination thereof. My songs mix in my subconscious, and by the time I become aware of them, they're generically mixed. I like Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Rickie Lee Jones, Janis Joplin, Judy Garland, Charlie Parker, Tom Waits, Sly Stone, and so many other performers. It's all good.

Love the instrumentals and lyrics make me think & smile
I really liked "Waiting for You" and "American Girl" - because the music and lyrics make me smile and think when I'm working or driving. The instrumentals are smooth, remind me of 70's & 80's pop grooves, including Motown and a nod or two in 60's Aretha. I mixed my two favorites with Corinne Bailey Rae - great!
