Curie has been rocking all over New Orleans since 2010. The four talented women of Curie create original music with a totally unique sound, featuring intricate and impressive vocal harmonies from the band's three classically trained vocalists. These transcendent vocals are complemented by driving drum and bass lines, which add a hard-rock/punk energy to create truly captivating songs. Memorable guitar riffs bring in blues, folk, and psychedelic elements to create an overall sound that is at once transcendent and visceral, rapturous and rambunctious, original and timeless.
Curie's debut album showcases the band's beautifully crafted original music and lyrics. Curie has had the chance to collaborate with well-known artists in the production and promotion of their album. Nationally-acclaimed photographer Robyn von Swank contributed the album's stunning photography, featuring on-location shoots at the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum and Muriel's Jackson Square. Production and recording was completed by New Orleans-based recording engineer Rick Nelson of Marigny Recording Studios; mastering was completed by recording engineer Larry Luthor of Mr. Smalls Recording Studio of Pittsburgh. Curie is grateful to all those who helped make this debut album possible.
Curie is composed of four talented women: Rachel Clark on lead guitar, vocals, and lyrics; Clare Davis-Wheeler on bass guitar, vocals, and lyrics; Amanda Foy on drums; and Jordan Andrea Krummel on rhythm guitar, vocals, lyrics, and album art.
