ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With a feather-light brush, Dana Ray captures life’s poignant moments, designing musical portraits in rich, thoughtful tones.

A singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas, Dana Ray applies a dynamic combination of breezy tunes and irresistible pop songs that will, no doubt, elicit smiles. Dana’s finest asset is her vocal diversity, from light and airy to deep and commanding, fluidly moving among familiar genres and then flirting with trending music styles.

Listen and you’ll trace an evolving life-view through her repertoire – each song curiously exploring life, love and spirit.

The younger of two girls born to loving, supportive parents, Dana was perpetually rambunctious, adventurous and fearless – ready to take challenge or claim a spotlight. But when she sang, she hid – and only an audience of pets and stuffed animals were privileged to hear those first hints of musical prowess. As a teen, she discovered a palpable release in music and soon began writing lyrics, from the sublime to the ridiculous, carefully blending them with chords strummed on her daddy’s guitar or an heirloom piano.

Dana now dips into that well of youthful, fearless ambition in a professional studio recording, partnering with the deliciously crisp artists at SameSky Productions and the unfailing support of her manager, Fred Meyers.

Dana splashed into this world, expecting to find her path dotted only with brilliance . . . but her palette, for a short while, displayed an ominous array of blues and grays. A week after her wedding, she underwent brain surgery. This soft touch against death’s door caused her to pause, reflect, grow in her faith . . . and then reach for a fresh paintbrush dabbed in brighter hues!

Dana resides with her healthy, happy family in Austin, including her husband Daren, a spunky golden retriever, Riley, and her ridiculously good-looking kitten, Zoolander.
