The infectious pop-reggae grooves framed by soaring harmonies that infiltrate the Dance Floor Chaperones new record set the pace for a powerful, yet laid back listening experience. Recorded and Mixed by Ray Fulber at Strait Sound in Gibsons, BC and mastered at the Glass Teepee Studios in Wilson Creek, the record explores themes of revolution, love, friendship, and all throughout touts the benefits of respecting and exploring the world as one of the best ways to get perspective on life.
This particular record is the culmination of two years worth of writing music but twelve years of Latin and island time. Colombia, Cuba, Costa Rica, Haiti, Honduras and Spain are just a few of the countries that have inspired this music. Even so, front man Chris Hergesheimer would be first to admit that living with his family on one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world (Southern British Columbia, Canada) also helps.
