----Into The Flow (2001) Remixed, Remastered, Re-Imagined

This is a re-mix of my 2001 instrumental guitar release, INTO THE FLOW.
I like to say it has been remixed, remastered and re-imagined.
With the help of Emmy Award-winning TV composer David Traugh, we remixed the original tracks at MovieSound Studios
The original recording and mix sounded great, I just wanted to do something different with the tunes.
You won't notice a big difference in some, but others have been revamped or polished up.
This CD is an alternate take on the same music that was received so well ten years ago. (yes, you can buy both CD's if you wish)
***A quick guide to the tracks on RIVER FLOW
(especially significant changes in the mix from the original version is noted for each track)
RIVER FLOW (track 1) is easy-going: like watching the river flow by from our back porch on a lazy day. It's like that Christmas song,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It flow! Let It flow! Let It flow!
REMIX CHANGE: wordless vocal removed
RECTANGULAR SUNLIGHT/CARPET FUZZ (track 5 - a closer examination of indoor illumination) starts out mellow, like sipping tea and watching the sunlight move across the floor (hey, we got plenty of time to hang out, don't we?). It accelerates to some up-tempo picking, and then collapses again after the unnecessary exertion of energy.
REMIX CHANGE: cleaned up with a few added sounds.
MANTLE TIMEPIECE (track 6 ) is a hypnotic texture of guitar sound; the lights of a river tug locking at night swirling about our room, the sharp noises of the locks and the horn punctuating the sound of voices, until the only sound left is the wind-up clock on the mantle. Back to sleep....
REMIX CHANGES: mostly subtle, but a real clock sound this time.
CARNIVAL BREEZE (track 7) is "Krusty the Clown meets Earl Klugh", or something like that. The carnival is in town. We're in bed early, but we can hear it through the open window...and imagine the fun our friends are having, but we cant go until tomorrow night.
REMIX CHANGE: Sound effects removed
LOOSE DAWG (track 9) (a pinch of classical music between your cheek and gum) Some various classical pieces rolled into a guitar finger-picking tune - yes, I was rolling my own on this one.

The original description was "Classical/Folk melodies wrapped in twisted dough, rolled in sugar, and served on a stick" - now, what sense does that make?
THIS IS MY PRAYER (track 4) The one full production number on this CD. This is an instrumental version of a tune by my friend Aldrea Reese-Brown.
"...this is my prayer, that you'll see Him standing there, waiting for you to hear His voice and return."

NOTHING I INTENDED (track 8) Good things happen by God's grace - a simple guitar arrangement. Sweet sound; didn't need to do much with this one.
ASCENT (track 12) moves from the worldly grind of the day to the refreshing of the spirit as we move up. Multiple guitars.
GRATEFUL TEARS (track 13) is the climax of this whole endeavor. Gratefulness that cannot be expressed in a human language. Wonderful cello by William Skidmore.
REMIX CHANGE: a little editing and a more natural cello sound.
** SPOOFY?FUN MUSIC
TEJAS TANGO (track 3) - a little Tex-Mex anyone? Originally conceived as a duo of guitarists in an eatery near the border. No one is paying attention, but they play on.
REMIX CHANGES: voices and sound effects have been removed. Now just light-hearted guitars with color.
SAME OLD GRIND (track 11) was originally subtitled "work life". It just plods through the day, in a pseudo jazz way, at a weary workman’s pace (c'mon, quittin' time!) with appropriate comments of approval and resignation.
REMIX CHANGES: tracks remixed, old sound effects removed, "Barry White" vocal range commentary added.
SARABANDE (track 2) is a solo guitar piece by Robert DeVisee (1650-1725) Very graceful. The Sarabande was a dance.
PRELUDE (track 10) is also a solo classical guitar piece, this one by Francisco Tarrega (1852-1909). Lyrical
