ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dan Marcus was born Mark Johnson on October 17th in Belize City. Dan Marcus was raised by his mother and grandmother along with his 4 brothers and 1 sister.

He wasn’t aware of his musical abilities until late in his life after dropping out of high school and discovering the Rastafarian faith. After realising he had skills in music Dan Marcus began performing everywhere and every time he had the opportunity performing for his friends and family wherever he could on street corners at house parties and local events. He started his rise in the buisness in 1998 after introducing himself to Mose “the mad rocker” hyde (who was a popular disc jockey and radio personality in Belize at the time) He awarded the young singjay the opportunity to blaze the airwaves live with his fiery brand of conscious dancehall music. After mashing up the place live on the radio Hyde was impressed and quickly booked the young singjay studio time at a local recording studio.

In the same week Dan Marcus I finished crafting his debut effort along with Jamaican Entertainer “Boom Blast” the first single “Free-up yoself” was an instant hit followed by “Early morning” which was adopted by Hyde for his morning show “Wake up Belize morning vibe” this was the break out song which would propelled Dan Marcus I to national acclaim and make him a household name. The song was and is a staple in the diets of the average working class Belizeans.
His Work
